Species to be included in our new BAP

The new Beds & Luton BAP will include fewer species action plans, but will actually cover more species. Selection criteria were agreed by the Forum last year, and include national and international listing, and whether our efforts are likely to make a difference to a species' conservation prospects. A new list of local BAP species has finally been agreed. They are:

Adder Great-crested newt
Arable plants (aggregated plan) Hazel dormouse
Black hairstreak Nightjar
Candytuft Pasque flower
Depressed river mussel Small blue
European otter Spined loach
Farmland birds (aggregated plan) Water vole
