Wool

Nude Ewe wool is a natural product. The colour of our fleeces can vary with the age of the sheep, exposure to sun and other factors. As such, wool colour may vary slightly between batches. To ensure that the colour of your project is consistent, your wool should all come from the same batch. We therefore recommend that you purchase all the wool you need for your project.

Patterns

Knit up your own piece of Bedfordshire! We are pleased to offer Nude Ewe customers a series of free scarf patterns, each representing a different place in the county. A scarf will use roughly 5 50g balls of yarn, or 6 if you like a nice long one. Watch this space for more patterns to come!

Patterns in the photos are in white to show detail only; your scarf will of course be in the colour of the yarn you use. These are best knit with DK or Light Aran weight yarn.

Bedford

The wavy pattern of this scarf represents the River Great Ouse that flows through the town.

Skill level:

Luton

The Luton scarf is designed to reflect the town's history as the British hat making centre. The sides of the scarf are done in a basket weave, with stripes in the middle representing a traditional hat band.

Skill level:

Sandy

The inspiration for The Sandy was found on a Roman clay pot excavated in the town during an archaeological dig.

Skill level:

Stewartby

Bedfordshire was once the hub of Britain's brick-making industry. This pattern, which resembles a completed brick wall, is a tribute to the site of the county's last operational brick works.
